Distribution
About Distribution
The MEDIA Programme supports the trans-national distribution of European films and TV programmes. European distributors can obtain support for releasing theatrically European films originating from territories other than their own (non-national). Support schemes exist for automatic and selective distribution and for sales agent support, TV broadcasting and for networks of cinemas.
Eligible are recent fiction, animations and creative documentary with a minimum duration of 60 minutes. Recent or first copyright must be established at least 4 years ago before applying for automatic or selective scheme.
Programmes
Automatic Scheme
The Automatic scheme is for European distributors who have already distributed at least one European work from another country (non-national).
Selective Scheme
Selective support is for groups of at least five or seven European companies in countries participating in the MEDIA programme distributing a film from another European country in their distribution territory.
Sales Agents
You are eligible if you are a European company and are contracted with the producer(s) of a film to act as an agent to market the rights to the work to potential buyers (particularly distributors) outside the home country.
Networks of Cinemas
The purpose of the network is to boost programming of European films with a special emphasis of non-national European titles.
