Održavajući se svakog studenog tijekom Međunarodnog festivala dokumentarnog filma u Amsterdamu, IDFAcademy pruža novim međunarodnim filmašima priliku upoznati širok spektar visoko cijenjenih dokumentarnih profesionalaca voljnih podijeliti svoje znanje o industriji.
IDFAcademy će se održati od 13. do 16. studenoga u Amsterdamu, a za cilj ima potaknuti razvoj filmskih stvaratelja pružajući im uvid i stručnost potrebne za dugoročni razvoj karijere. Sudjelovanjem na ovom programu usavršavanja, nova generacija filmaša i producenata postat će spremna za uspjeh na međunarodnom dokumentarnom tržištu kroz razmjenu između etabliranih profesionalaca, instituta i stvaratelja (redatelja i producenata) budućnosti.
Četverodnevni program uključuje sesije poput Filmmaker Talks, gdje poznati redatelji i vodeći profesionalci iz IDFA-ine filmske selekcije dijele svoja iskustva i inspiriraju sudionike u njihovim kreativnim procesima. Također, kombinacija okruglih stolova, grupnih sesija i studija slučaja osmišljena je s ciljem razumijevanja međunarodnog dokumentarnog tržišta i aktualnih trendova, čime se sudionicima pomaže u razvijanju šire perspektive o sektoru. Uz to, svakodnevno se održavaju društvena događanja namijenjena poticanju nove suradnje i širenju profesionalne mreže sudionika.
IDFAcademy je otvoren za redatelje i producente koji rade na svom prvom ili drugom dugometražnom filmu, a od kojih se očekuje da su već pokazali talent na nacionalnoj razini te iskazuju interes za širenje karijere u međunarodnom kontekstu. Program je otvoren za 100 sudionika i, iako nije temeljen na pojedinačnom projektu, sudionicima se preporučuje da imaju projekt u razvoju ili nedavno dovršen film tijekom pohađanja programa. Time se omogućuje kontinuirana primjena znanja i savjeta na vlastiti dokumentarni rad, uz izgradnju dugoročnog profesionalnog i kreativnog razvoja.
Prijave za IDFAcademy podnose se putem obrasca za akreditaciju. Važno je napomenuti da je za ispunjavanje obrasca najprije potrebno imati MyIDFA račun. Materijali koji moraju biti uključeni prilikom prijave su: biografija, filmografija, motivacija (objasnite zašto se želite pridružiti IDFAcademyju) te ciljevi učenja (navedite koje specifične elemente programa očekujete da će doprinijeti vašem profesionalnom razvoju, koje teme želite obraditi i od kojih stručnjaka želite učiti). Rok za prijavu je 1. kolovoza 2025.

Taking place every November during IDFA, IDFAcademy gives emerging international filmmakers the opportunity to meet a broad spectrum of highly esteemed documentary professionals willing to share their knowledge of the industry.
Taking place from November 13 to 16 in Amsterdam, IDFAcademy aims to stimulate filmmakers with the insight and expertise needed to develop their careers long-term. A new generation of filmmakers and producers is prepared to succeed on the international documentary market by creating an exchange between established professionals, institutes, and the filmmakers (directors and producers) of the future.
The four-day program includes sessions, such as Filmmaker Talks, where well-known directors and leading industry professionals from IDFA’s film selection share their experiences inspiring the participants in their own processes. As well, a combination of round table discussions, group sessions, and case studies, are included towards learning about the international documentary market and current trends helping participants develop a broad view of the sector. Social events will take place daily to encourage new collaborations and increase the network of the participants.
IDFAcademy is open to directors and producers working on their first or second feature film, who are expected to have proven their talent on a national scale and now show interest in expanding their career internationally. The programme is open to 100 participants and, although it is not project-driven, participants are recommended to have a project or recently finished film during their attendance. This ensures that they are constantly applying the general knowledge and advice to their own documentary during the four-day program, in addition to building long-term professional and creative development.
Applications for the IDFAcademy are made through the accreditation form. Please be aware that if you do not have a MyIDFA-account yet, it is necessary to create one first, before you can fill out the form. The following information must be included when filling in the form: biography, filmography, motivation (elaborate on why you want to join IDFAcademy) and learning objectives (describe which specific elements of the IDFAcademy program you anticipate will contribute to your career, what topics you would like to learn about, and what kinds of professionals you would like to learn from during the program).
