The Creative Europe Desk – MEDIA Office Croatia proudly announces the 11 short film projects selected for the 11th edition of the international workshop "Let's Pitch Some Shorts!", taking place from 15 to 17 June 2026 at the University VERN' in Zagreb, including the pitching forum, to be held on 18 June 2026 starting at 10:30 AM at the Kaptol Cinema Boutique in Zagreb.

DKE – Ured MEDIA Hrvatske s ponosom objavljuje 11 kratkometražnih filmskih projekata odabranih za 11. izdanje međunarodne radionice "Let's Pitch Some Shorts!", koja će se održati od 15. do 17. lipnja o.g. na Sveučilištu VERN' u Zagrebu, te pitching forumu koji će se održati s početkom u 10:30 sati 18. lipnja o.g. u kinu Kaptol Cinema Boutique u Zagrebu.

Ovo je izdanje zabilježilo ukupan, rekordan broj od 78 prijava iz 10 zemalja, a među njima je odabrano 11 projekata, povezujući nove talente iz cijele Europe.

Svi sudionici dobit će profesionalnu edukaciju, mentorsku podršku te priliku predstaviti svoje projekte pred međunarodnim stručnim žirijem i profesionalnom publikom.

Za provedbu radionice zadužena je iskusna i renomirana njemačka filmska producentica Roshanak Behesht Nedjad. Svoju je karijeru u filmskoj industriji započela kao koordinatorica filmskih festivala i voditeljica produkcije, a 1999. godine u Berlinu suosnovala je svoju prvu produkcijsku kuću Flying Moon, koja je do 2014. producirala niz autorskih filmova ovjenčanih s više od trideset međunarodnih nagrada. Godine 2015. u Berlinu je suosnovala produkcijsku kuću In Good Company, usmjerenu prvenstveno na međunarodne koprodukcije europskih igranih filmova. Članica je Europske i Njemačke filmske akademije te diplomantica i mentorica najpoznatijega europskog edukativnog programa za filmske producente EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.

Događanje organiziraju DKE – Uredi MEDIA iz Hrvatske, Cipra, Crne Gore, Češke, Estonije, Grčke, Mađarske, Slovenije i Srbije, u suradnji s Filmskim centrom Crne Gore, Umjetničkim vijećem Malte te Organizacijom za europske programe i kulturne odnose na Cipru.

Let's Pitch Some Shorts! nije samo platforma za usavršavanje – već i siguran, inkluzivan prostor za razmjenu raznolikih perspektiva, autentičnih glasova i hrabrog filmskog izričaja. Forum potiče kulturnu razmjenu, koprodukciju i međusobnu suradnju, stvarajući prostor u kojem talenti rastu, a ideje prelaze granice.

Podrška, nagrade i industrijska suradnja

Događanje ove godine, u suradnji sa SFC | Rendez-vous Industry (Cinema de Demain), odabranim nositeljima projekata pruža posebnu podršku. SFC | Rendez-vous Industry osigurava dvije akreditacije odabranim nositeljima projekata (vrijede od početka SFC | Rendez-vous Industry u nedjelju tijekom Festivala u Cannesu), čime im se omogućuje sudjelovanje u četverodnevnom industrijskom programu u Cannesu. Odabrani nositelji projekata moći će sudjelovati u različitim događanjima SFC | Rendez-vous IndustryjaBreakfast, Meet The Experts & Workshop (uz prijavu za jednog od autora), panelima, ključnim predavanjima (keynotes), razgovorima s redateljima (Directors' Talks), Happy Hours i drugima.

Uz to, događanje uključuje sljedeće nagrade i profesionalne prilike:

  • Novčana nagrada od 3.000 EUR bit će dodijeljena najboljem projektu prema odluci stručnog žirija.
  • Nagrada Baltic Pitching Foruma uključuje online konzultacije za scenarij te jednu akreditaciju za Baltic Pitching Forum 2026., s tri noćenja. Baltic Pitching Forum vodeća je industrijska manifestacija posvećena kratkometražnom filmu u baltičkoj regiji; predstavlja nadolazeće kratkometražne projekte iz baltičkih zemalja i zemlje gosta, koja je 2026. godine Italija. Forum potiče umrežavanje, suradnju i koprodukcijske prilike između novih autora kratkog filma i filmskih profesionalaca iz cijele Europe.
  • Nagrada International Screen Instituta je sudjelovanje u njihovu Market Ready programu, koji se održava od 19. do 23. listopada o.g. u Beču (uključeno: kotizacija u vrijednosti od 1.730 eura te troškovi boravka tijekom programa; nije uključeno: putovanje i smještaj u Beču).
  • Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market glavnom pobjedniku osigurava besplatnu akreditaciju za filmski sajam kratkometražnog filma u Clermont-Ferrandu – jedno od najvažnijih svjetskih okupljališta posvećenih kratkom filmu.
  • U suradnji s European Short Pitchom, jednom će projektu biti dodijeljene konzultantske usluge za daljnji razvoj scenarija i projekta – kao dio jednog od vodećih europskih programa za razvoj i koprodukciju kratkometražnih filmova, koji povezuje mlade autore s iskusnim mentorima i međunarodnom industrijom.
  • Sayonara Film jednom će projektu osigurati stručno savjetovanje za izradu festivalske i distribucijske strategije, oslanjajući se na bogato iskustvo u plasmanu kratkometražnih filmova na međunarodne festivale i sajmove.
  • T-Port Online Market svim sudionicima nudi hosting njihovih filmova na svojoj online platformi koja kratke filmove povezuje s međunarodnom filmskom industrijom, kao i 50 % popusta na sljedeću online radionicu u srpnju (redovna cijena 69 EUR, uz popust 35 EUR).

This edition received a total of 78 applications from 10 countries. Out of these, 11 projects were selected, representing an exciting mix of emerging voices from across Europe.

Each participant will receive professional training, one-on-one mentorship, and the opportunity to present their projects before a professional audience and an international jury.

The workshop will be led by the experienced and renowned German film producer Roshanak Behesht Nedjad. She began her career in the film industry as a festival coordinator and production manager, and in 1999 she co-founded her first production company, Flying Moon, in Berlin. By 2014, the company had produced a notable slate of arthouse films that earned more than thirty international awards. In 2015, she co-founded In Good Company in Berlin, a production outfit focused on international co-productions with an emphasis on European feature films. She is a member of the European and German Film Academies and a graduate and mentor of the most well-known European training programme for film producers, EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.

The programme is organised by the Creative Europe MEDIA Desks in Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, in collaboration with the Film Center of Montenegro, Arts Council Malta, and the Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations in Cyprus.

Let's Pitch Some Shorts! is not only a professional training platform but a safe and inclusive space for the exchange of diverse perspectives, underrepresented voices, and bold new storytelling. It is a place where collaboration replaces competition, where co-productions are born, and where cultural exchange is encouraged through mentorship, community, and meaningful dialogue.

Support, Awards and Industry Collaboration

This year, in collaboration with the SFC | Rendez-vous Industry (Cinema de Demain), the programme offers dedicated support to the selected project-holders. The SFC | Rendez-vous Industry provides two accreditations to the chosen project-holders (valid from the start of the SFC | Rendez-vous Industry, on the Sunday of the Festival de Cannes), allowing them to participate in the 4-day industry events held in Cannes. The chosen project-holders will be able to take part in the various SFC | Rendez-vous Industry events – Breakfast, Meet The Experts & Workshop (upon registration for one of the filmmakers), Panels, Keynotes, Directors' Talks, Happy Hours and more.

In addition, the programme includes the following awards and professional opportunities:

  • A financial award of 3,000 EUR will be granted to the best project by a professional jury.
  • The Baltic Pitching Forum Award includes online script consultancy and one accreditation to the 2026 Baltic Pitching Forum, including three nights of accommodation. The Baltic Pitching Forum is the leading short film industry event in the Baltic region. It showcases upcoming short film projects from the Baltic countries and the annual Guest Country, which in 2026 is Italy. The Forum aims to foster networking, collaboration, and co-production opportunities between emerging short film creators and industry professionals from across Europe.
  • The International Screen Institute Award is participation in ISI's Market Ready Programme, held 19–23 October in Vienna (included: programme fees worth €1,730 and subsistence during the programme; not included: travel & accommodation in Vienna).
  • The Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market offers a free accreditation to the main winner – one of the world's foremost gatherings dedicated to short film.
  • In cooperation with European Short Pitch, one project will receive consultancy services to support the further development of its script and project – as part of one of Europe's leading development and co-production programmes for short films, connecting emerging filmmakers with experienced mentors and the international industry.
  • Sayonara Film will provide one project with expert guidance on building a festival and distribution strategy, drawing on extensive experience in positioning short films at international festivals and markets.
  • T-Port Online Market offers all participating filmmakers the hosting of their films on its online platform connecting short films with the international film industry, as well as a 50% discount for its next online training session in July (regular price €69, discounted to €35).
